The 17th annual world bodypainting festival has taken place in Pörtschach, Austria. Thousands of visitors arrived to observe the bodypainting work of artists from 47 different countries on the theme of Pop Art.

The world bodypainting festival has taken place since 1998 and calls itself "the most colourful event in the world".

This year, the festival took place from 29 June to 3 July.

A highlight of the festival is "bodypaint city" where many models painted head-to-toe can be seen walking around.

The festival this year was sponsored by Canon, a large manufacturer of cameras and camera equipment.

The artists compete in many categories such as sponge, brush, and special effects.

The week-long festival consists of a number of workshops and events.
